When we first started making Daft punk helmets, we implemented the 3D printer and used a light champagne gold for the colors.
As we perfected our craft, we started using fiberglass resin as our material of choice instead of the 3D printed PLA plastic. We also updated the paint job to have a more chromed and shiny look to the gold.
