Captain America is arguably my favorite superhero of all time. He has a strong sense of justice, has integrity, and heart of gold. He's not corrupted, he'll defend the little guys, and he'll be there until the end of the line. I love all of those qualities about him. Cap is the first costume I ever made for myself, so he has a special place in my heart.
This was my very first cosplay ever, and I was new to the prop/costume making world. I've improved my craft and have come a long way since then. The first helmet I ever made was made with a combination of cardstock, fiberglass, and Bondo. The shield was made out of one of those steel saucer sleds.
My craft has greatly improved since this first iteration. The ones I make now are more sturdy, accurate, and are over all better quality. I've upgraded the sled shield to spun aluminum, and we even offer the Wakandan shield that Cap wields in Infinity War.
